The governing body for the Village of Pinckney is the Village Council. The Council is composed of six Trustees and the Village President elected by voters of the Village. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in Village Hall, in the Council Chambers (lower level). Enter the Chambers through the rear lower level door.
The public is welcome to attend meetings. Public Forum is the time for citizens to voice their concerns and opinions on Village matters. Council opens Public Forum at the beginning and end of each meeting, with a five minute time-limit for each speaker. Council Rules are here.
In 2009, an ordinance was enacted to allow the Village Council to serve as the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). ZBA bylaws can be found here.

On October 27, 2014, Village Council approved a Mission Statement for the Council and Village, as a whole, the mission reads:
The mission of the Village of Pinckney Council and Offices is to serve the residents of the Village with integrity and respect; practice responsible management of our common funds and resources; conduct business with transparency and accountability; maintain the quality of life through public safety and security; preserve the historic nature of the Village and welcome progress with vision; ensure that all issues are addressed with honesty and fairness.

On occasion there is a need for a Special Meeting of either a committee or the entire council. These meetings will be posted in the display case outside Village Hall as well as below.
The Village of Pinckney Council is seeking applications to fill the vacancy of one (1) council trustee seat. The application deadline is Monday, November 23, 2020, at 12:00 PM, and the applications will be reviewed at the November 23, 2020, Council Meeting at 7:00 PM. All interested applicants should plan on attending this meeting. The term shall commence from the appointment date until the date of the next regular Village general election. The Village Council meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Village Hall. To qualify for consideration you must be an elector of the Village of Pinckney.
